Our flights of fancy

These past couple years, as we were slowly leaving the pandemic behind us, we spent some soulful moments in nature. We loved that intimacy.

Among all the characters we interacted with during our nature immersion trips, it was birds that made their way into our lives. We decided to keep them forever.

Sure, they are a delightful bunch of beauties, however, as birders may well be aware, they are adept at constantly challenging the frontiers of human perseverance.

Little did I know that my husband, Amitabha, would prove to be a perfect foil to all their idiosyncrasies! Together we spotted many different species of birds, but yes, all the heavy lifting was done by him.

For hours on end, often with the sun blazing down, he survived all of their nonchalance, frantic fights, squabbles over food, foreplays, and those fine acrobatics.

His only arm of defense, a neat piece of lens. A few good ones did oblige, though.
